Canvas Training Sessions

Hello everyone…

First I wanted to thank you for taking the time to complete the Canvas training survey that I had sent out. The results will be very useful in working with the team in New York, whom I have already met with, to plan out future training that is convenient based on our time zone.

One of the things that I noticed in the survey was that several of the highly rated sessions are actually already on the schedule – and some even scheduled for times later in the day. For example, the session on Canvas Rubrics that was selected by many individuals at TUN is scheduled for the following times:

Individuals at TUC also rated these two sessions quite highly:

Student Group Assignments

Admittedly, some of those times would be an early rise for us in Nevada and California, but not outside of the realm of what is possible (and some of the times are actually quite reasonable).

Be sure to check out their full schedule at https://touro-iits-dept.s3.amazonaws.com/canvas/calendar.html – just remember the times listed here are all in Eastern.

The most popular recommendation in the survey was the session on “8 Things You Probably Did Not Know You Can Do in Canvas.” This is a session that was (and is still being) offered by Holly Owens, an instructional designer with the Touro College, School of Health Sciences in New York. As this is unlike the other sessions, which are mainly delivered by the TCUS Canvas support team, Holly has provided some support materials for her sessions that may be of interest to many folks:

So hopefully some of these resources will be of use to you as you continue your journey with our new learning management system.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
